DETAIL ITINERARY

Day 1: Luang Prabang arrival (D)

Start your Laos honeymoon tour. On arrival at Luang Prabang airport, you meet by your guide and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is your own free time at leisure. Dinner in your hotel with candles and wine. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 2: Luang Prabang city tour – Pak Ou caves – Nam Ou riverside resort (B)

Today, you will first visit the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture.  From there, we will also visit Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts; We then embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside, before reaching the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims.  Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the local rice wine. After visiting the caves, we continue our journey to Nam Ou Riverside Resort and Hotel, the lovely resort overlooking the Nam Ou River, where we will spend our next 02 nights.

Day 3: Nam Ou riverside resort – Free day (B)
Today, you are free to stroll around this beautiful resort, or just lazily lying by the lake for the sunbath. Overnight at Nam Ou Riverside Resort.

Day 4: Nam Ou riverside resort – Kuang Si falls – Luang Prabang (B)

In the morning, we transfer back to the city center. From there you will visit the morning Phosi Market where you will see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings. Laos is also known for its traditional handicrafts, and today you will visit local village of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay and Ban Thapene. We then drive to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall where you can splash around in the turquoise pools or walk along the forest paths. On the way coming back to Luang Prabang, we stop to visit the Kuang Si Falls Butterfly Park, one of the must-visit spots, newly opened on January 2014.

We come back to Luang Prabang, and ascend the mount Phousi for a beautiful sunset view of the city and its glowing reflection on the Mekong River. The tour ends after a visit to the famous Night Market, where you can find a lovely collection of handmade textiles made by local and hilltribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Day 5: Luang Prabang – Pakse – Champasak (B)

You are free before taking the flight to Pakse, the biggest city in Southern Laos. Upon arrival, transfer directly to Champasak, where will also check-in another amazing resort of Laos – The River Resort Champasak. The rest of the day is your own free time at leisure. Overnight in Champasak

Day 6: Champasak – Free day (B)

You are free for the whole day at The River Resort

Day 7: Champasak – Wat Phou – Don Khong 4000 islands (B)

After breakfast, we drive to visit the fascinating pre-Angkorian ruins of Wat Phu, one of Southeast Asia’s most dramatically situated temples. We have time to explore these intriguing Khmer ruins, which are perched at the base of Mount Phu Kao. Following lunch, we continue our journey by car to Done Khong where you have the rest of the day to relax or to explore the island. Overnight in Done Khong Island.

Day 8: Don Khong – 4000 islands surroundings – Pakse (B)

Heading out of town we embark on a long tail boat for venturing into the widest reach of the Mekong River, where during the dry season the waters recede and leave behind thousands of islets, giving this area a lovely name” Si Phan Done”. We explore the local peaceful villages of Ban Khone, where you will see an array of relics from the French colonial era and retrace the old colonial past, including old French colonial buildings and the remnants of the first Lao railway with its locomotive. We continue to discover the 4000 islands area by boat and visit the marvelous Liphi waterfall, also called the “Corridor of the Devil” one of the most beautiful waterfalls marking Lao border with Cambodia. If we are lucky, we may even see the rare freshwater Irrawaddy Mekong dolphin at Ban Hang Khone. Afterwards, we will take a long-tail boat to Ban Nakasang; from there, drive back to Pakse. Day 9: Pakse – Departure (B)

You are free before taking the departure flight for the next destination (direct flights to Siem Reap/ Ho Chi Minh city/ Vientiane daily). End of services.
