Ninh Binh 3-day tour: Suggestions for countryside outing
Ninh Binh city is the capital of the province of the same name: a small wedge-shaped province south of Hanoi, which stretches from Cuc Phuong National Park in the west...
Our unique Thailand adventure trip will take you deep into wildest Thailand, where you’ll explore enchanting rainforests and swim in sparkling natural lakes. You’ll sleep in two unique places; the Anurak Community Lodge in Khao Sok National Park and floating in a raft house on a shimmering lake. On the lake you’ll find only simple facilities, but the setting is out of this world. In the Jungle Lodge, most of the staff are from the local community and the guides will give presentations on conservation.
Travel route: Surat Thani – Anurak Community Lodge Khao Sok National Park – Lake Racha Praba floating raft houses
Day 1 – 2: Anurak Lodge – Khao Sok National Park (L,D)
After arriving at the railway station in Surat Thani, you’ll be collected by a guide and driver along with a small group of other travellers. You’ll travel to our Anurak Community Lodge in Khao Sok National Park, a stunning location hidden amongst the limestone cliffs. This afternoon you will head to the river where your canoe and local guide will be waiting for you. Enjoy your view of idyllic limestone cliffs.
Today you’ll wake up to the sounds of the jungle and head out on a hike to spot the local wildlife. You’ll hear the dense rainforest rustle with the sounds of monkeys, birds and insects. After walking for around 90 minutes you will arrive at Civet Cave or a series of small waterfalls (which one depends on the season). You’ll probably be pretty tired when you get back to your jungle bungalow, so you can spend the afternoon on your veranda, listening to the trills and murmurs of the jungle at night.
Day 3: Travel to Floating Raft Houses (B,L,D)
After an early breakfast this morning, you’ll be collected along with a small group of other travellers and head to Lake Racha Praba. You’ll take a boat over the still waters, surrounded by spectacular rock formations jutting vertically from the lake. Within a couple of hours, you’ll arrive at your floating bungalow. Once you’ve settled in and enjoyed a delicious Thai lunch, you’ll join your group and guide for a walk through the dense jungle, past bamboo groves and beneath giant trees.
Day 4: Departure (B)
Today is your last day in the jungle and you’ll pack up your things ready to journey to your next destination. Many travellers now head south to the beaches to experience white sands and turquoise seas. It’s worth bearing in mind that the daily programme of this trip may vary slightly depending on the weather conditions at the time of travel. Weather in the jungle can be hard to predict!
